Baroque Holidays with Collegium 1704
2014-12-15a16 Vanocni koncert 450x330Collegium 1704 and Václav Luks prepared  a series of concerts in December, that awaken a huge audience interest. On 6th December for half a year in advance sold out Advent concert in Břevnov monastery is followed by a Christmas concert in the Rudolfinum with Czech modern premiere Zelenka's Mass Divi Xaverii and Bach's Magnificat. The concert will be perfomed twice on 15th and 16th December.
The series will end with New Year's Eve concert in the Church of St. Simon and Jude with Handel's Dixit Dominus, that is also traditionally sold out.

Thanks to her temperament and unique vocal abilities, she was an ideal guide to the world of operatic rivals and the most famous sopranos of Handel's day.

The last launched CD of Collegium Vocale 1704 and Collegium 1704 with works by J. D. Zelenka and F. I. Tůma was awarded a prestigious Diapason d'Or accolade in November issue of Diapason Magazine. The Diapason d'Or is a recommendation of outstanding (mostly) classical music recordings given by reviewers of Diapason magazine in France.

Bejun Mehta revealed the secrets of the countertenor's world

With a new name but with the same star constellation, Bejun launched the third annual concert series Collegium 1704 in the Rudolfinum, which had been both critics and audiences for the short period of its existence dubbed one of the major cultural events of the season. A concert on October 21 at the Rudolfinum brought Bejun, "best countertenor present" (according to Süddeutsche Zeitung), back to Prague. His calendar items in recent months include the best known opera and concert stage. Bejun Mehta had bewitched Prague audience three years ago at the National Theatre with his first concert with Collegium 1704 under Václav Luks, which started inspiring cooperation: Collegium 1704 made ​​in the Baroque theater in Czech Krumlov film with Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice , that was awarded the "DVD -September" and "Editor 's Choice" by Gramophone magazine and "IRR Outstanding" British International Record Review".
