The first Czech complete recording of Händel's Messiah has been launched

coverHallelujah! Collegium 1704 has published the first Czech complete recording of Messiah - a famous masterpiece composed by G. F. Händel. The very latest CD has been introduced by the ensemble on 13 March 2019 in Rudolfinum on the occasion of Händel's another oratorio - Israel in Egypt performance.

Händel's Messiah is unquestionably one of the most famous works of the worldwide oratorio literature, and over the centuries it has become a part of England’s cultural identity. It is not surprising that tens of Messiah recordings exist. A noteworthy fact is an absence of the Czech interpretative tradition of Handel's Messiah. On the occasion of the fourth performance of Messiah within the season 2017/2018 of Collegium 1704 held in the Rudolfinum in Prague (27 March & 3 April 2018), the ensemble decided to provide the very first complete CD live recording of this composition.
