THANK YOU. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!

Did you like the performance of Zelenka'sMissa Divi Xaverii ZVW 12? Do you want to listen to this piece anytime you like'd to? Support the making of the world premiere recording of this newly discovered work, which we are going to record in 2015. Below find more information about the project.

Zelenka composed this work when he was at the pinnacle of his creative powers, and the music is overflowing with festive brilliance and boundless invention. It is surprising that this composition, prominent within the context of Zelenka’s output and at the same time one of his most lavishly orchestrated scores, has waited so long to be rediscovered. Nearly three centuries had passed before the work could shine in its original splendor and make a major contribution to how we view Zelenka, who is regarded as one of the most distinctive and original of all composers.

„Soloists, choir and orchestra delivered an outstanding and expressive
performance. The festival could hardly have started better than with this concert.“
(musica Dei donum, Johan van Veen)

The European premiere of Missa Divi Xaverii was performed by Collegium 1704 at the festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht in August of 2014. The enthusiastic reception of the work and the reaction of the public and of musical experts have made us all the more determined to record it on a CD. We are preparing its release for the tenth anniversary of Collegium 1704 in the autumn of 2015 in cooperation with the Accent label. The CD will include the world premiere recording of yet another work by Zelenka: Litaniae de Sancto Xaverio ZWV 156.

This exceptionally ambitious project will require the combined forces of everyone who cares about the fate of Zelenka’s music. The cost of making this recording will be in excess of CZK 1,400,000 (EUR 56,000) thus every contribution towards the realization of the recording is of invaluable assistance.

Our previous of J. S. Bach’s B Minor Mass was realized largely thanks to gifts from our enthusiastic fans and donors. The success of that recording is thus also the success of everyone who contributed towards or took part in that project. We owe a debt of thanks to all of you, and we hope that our new project will meet with the same response.
