Collegium 1704 celebrates its 10th anniversary in style. At two concerts in the Rudolfinum,
March 30 and 31, the orchestra will perform a spectacular
Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, which is closely tied to the history of orchestra. The recording of the work performed by Collegium 1704 conducted by Václav Luks attracted attention also Australian BBC, in the summer Collegium 1704 will perform Mass in B minot at the Salzburger Festspiele. "We did not strive for invitation in any way, it's not even possible in these types of festivals. Someone just listened to us in the radio and then they approached us," describes prosaic circumstances of such extraordinary honor Václav Luks, artistic director of the ensemble. Collegium 1704 will be after a long pause the first orchestra that will perform at this festival: the Czech Philharmonic performed therer over ten years ago.
