Summer of Collegium 1704 in the name of exceptional music events

c1704 summer Silvie KorenkovaThe first half of the year is over and Collegium 1704 has already managed to sell out all concerts of a preceeding season, made its debut in the Berliner Philharmonie in May, and perform at a long-awaited concert with Andreas Scholl at the Prague Spring Festival.

And there will be no rest even during the summer. Before Collegium 1704 enters its new season on the 28th October, a considerable number of exceptional music events is waiting.

After a successful debut with Bach’s Mass B Minor last year, the orchestra will be performing again at the prestigious Salzburger Festspiele where it starts a European tour with Missa Salisburgensis by H. I. F. Biber – a masterpiece written namely for the Salzburg Cathedral. A tour will continue in September 2016 in Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Chapelle Royale in Versailles and in other significant music halls. Within the fall tour with Anna Bonitatibus, we are going to come to England for the first time. Our English debut will take place in nothing less than the Wigmore Hall.
Other notable events include a world-renowned the Festival Chopin and his Europe (Warsaw) and the Festival de La Chaise-Dieu celebrating 50 years of its existence and which cooperates with Collegium 1704 regularly from 2007 and participate with the orchestra on the presenting compositions of J. D. Zelenka.

Among the concert performances, Collegium 1704 continues in summer on the recording of Zelenka’s trio sonatas. A new CD is planned to be released at the end of the year, almost a year after the releasing the last CD of Collegium 1704 with Zelenka’s Missa Divi Xaverii being awarded by prestigious Diapason d’Or and Editor’s Choice in the Gramophone Magazine.
