Presented by Collegium 1704 in collaboration with the Czech Philharmonic and the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97
In 2015, we are celebrating the tenth anniversary of Collegium 1704 and Collegium Vocale 1704. In the ten years of our existence, we have succeeded not only in achieving international renown but also in establishing two concert series – the Music Bridge Prague – Dresden and Collegium 1704 in the Rudolfinum – with a large, attentive, and enthusiastic audience. It is you, our audience, and the music we share, who are the best reward for our efforts. In the 2015–16 season, we have decided to combine the best of these two series into one project with a broad repertoire, and to add to our venues the unique space of St Anne’s Church – Prague Crossroads, in the Old Town.
Our choice of repertoire will continue to reflect our desire to discover for our audiences lesser-known chapters in the history of music, and to emphasize sacred music, for which St Anne’s Church, with its unique enchanting atmosphere, is particularly well suited. Our Rudolfinum concerts will thus continue to be reserved for large works of oratorio, and you, the audience, will of course continue to be treated to outstanding vocal soloists. We are also offering an innovation: the long-awaited concert performance of Baroque opera at the Rudolfinum.
We believe that for all of us the new form of our concert series will be a lovely gift for the ten years of existence of the Collegium 1704.
