The season 2020—21 will be inaugurated by one of the most famous works in the history of music, Handel’s Messiah, and this “messianic” spirit pervades the dramaturgy of the whole concert series. The unconventional programme of the Advent concert will recreate the atmosphere of Italian Baroque Christmas and we shall celebrate the arrival of the New Year with Mozart’s Coronation Mass.

> More PRAGUE DRESDEN
Due to emergency measures issued by the Czech government, we had to cancel or postpone several concerts in Prague, both Rudolfinum and chamber series - as well as abroad. Although we cannot meet our audience live at concerts at the moment, Collegium 1704 has grand plans for the future. In order to realize them, we need your support more than ever.

Upcoming year will be even more exceptional as it will be 10 years since founding Collegium 1704.

Ticket sale has begun: you can purchase it online at www.ceskafilharmonie.cz, in person at the Czech Philharmonic Box Office in the Rudolfinum (Palachovo Sq., Prague 1, Mon–Fri, 10am – 6 pm) or via Ticketportal and Bohemia Ticket. Subscription tickets to the third season of the series can be purchased in person at the Czech Philharmonic Box Office in the Rudolfinum or reserved at info@cfmail.com). Current subscribers to the Baroque Opera Stars series will have their places reserved until 30 June 2014.

Collegium 1704 in Rudolfinum will present six concerts from October to April. Again we have invited some extraordinary singing celebrities for three programmes of differing styles. In addition to Bejun Mehta, the most acclaimed countertenor of our times, Sara Mingardo will after a two-year absence bring her velvety voice back to the Rudolfinum, and for the first time ever we shall present as part of our cycle the charm of French Baroque music in cooperation with the first lady of the French Baroque, Sandrine Piau. The other half of the total of six concerts will be devoted to a series of three festive masses. The Czech premiere of Zelenka’s Missa Divi Xaverii which will be present in counterpoint to Bach’s Magnificat, will be an extraordinary historic moment. This tripartite constellation of festive masses will continue in February by Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor, a work of immense emotional depth and power.
The highlight of the season will certainly be performance of monumental Bach's Mass in B minor, which will then also be heard in the summer of 2015 as interpreted by Collegium 1704 as part of the Salzburger Festspiele. The performance of this unique work will at the same time serve as a celebration of the ten years of existence of the orchestral and vocal ensembles Collegium 1704 and Collegium Vocale 1704. The complete programme of the series.
