The season 2020—21 will be inaugurated by one of the most famous works in the history of music, Handel’s Messiah, and this “messianic” spirit pervades the dramaturgy of the whole concert series. The unconventional programme of the Advent concert will recreate the atmosphere of Italian Baroque Christmas and we shall celebrate the arrival of the New Year with Mozart’s Coronation Mass.

Together with VOSTO5 theatre company and Kino Pilotů cinema, the Collegium 1704 is going to present a new venue for cultural events, rehearsals, lectures and community gatherings. The former 1920´s cinema VZLET in Prague 10 is going to open for public in Spring 2021. Through a crowd-funding campaign on the platform Donio we managed to raise 1 251 218 CZK. We are going to use the means for the necessary sound and light equipment and for visitor facilities, such as the cloakroom, the foyer, and the café. Thanks to all contributors!

Next Baroque Opera Star Sonia Prina

At Tuesday February 26 a magnificent Italian alto Sonia Prina will perform in Rudolfinum together with the Prague baroque orchestra Collegium 1704 under te batton of Václav Luks. The concert is a part of the Baroque Opera Stars series. In the program labeled Between Heaven and Earth the diva sings arias by Handel, Porpora and Vivaldi who wrote their demanding pieces for famous castrati.
The tickets can be purchased at the Czech Philharmonic box office in Rudolfinum (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) or online. Children, students, seniors, and disabled persons get reduced price.
Don’t miss the opportunity to get the last tickets for the Easter concert with St. John Passion by Bach which takes place 26 March at 7.30 p.m. in Rudolfinum.
