The season 2020—21 will be inaugurated by one of the most famous works in the history of music, Handel’s Messiah, and this “messianic” spirit pervades the dramaturgy of the whole concert series. The unconventional programme of the Advent concert will recreate the atmosphere of Italian Baroque Christmas and we shall celebrate the arrival of the New Year with Mozart’s Coronation Mass.

Vespers for the Blessed Virgin opened a new season

opening-concert_2016-17Vespers for the Blessed Virgin – a true rarity, in concert halls performed only occasionally. After summer successes, Collegium came back to Prague and Dresden to start a following season with its audience. The opening concerts was held in the 24th and 25th September and in Prague (Rudolfinum - Dvořák's Hall) and later on, in the 28th September in Dresden (Annenkirche). Opening concerts offered nothing less than a famous masterpiece composed by Claudio Monteverdi. By performing Monteverdi's Vespers, the ensemble among other also anticipated the upcomming anniversary of the composer.
