The French soprano
Véronique Gens will be guest in the final concert of the first season of
Baroque Opera Starts. Under the motto “Opera Revolution” Véronique Gens and
Collegium 1704 will perform under the musical direction of
Václav Luks compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Christoph Willibald Gluck and Josef Mysliveček. The concert will take place at the 7th of May, 7.30 pm, at the Rudolfinum in Prague.
Véronique Gens made her debut in 1986 as member of the ensemble Les Arts Florissants. Within a short period of time she earned a reputation of belonging to the best interpreters of Baroque music of her time. Véronique Gens worked together with her patron William Christie as well as with conductors like René Jacobs and Philippe Herreweghe. Her second field beside Baroque is the repertoire of Mozart. In the year 2002 the soprano was nominated for a Victoire de la Musique as best singer of the year.
