With an aim to strenghten Josef Mysliveček's revival and international renown, there has been
Josef Mysliveček Institute founded. Both artistic and scientific activities such as conferences, research, concerts, opera productions, films etc., coming up in collaboration with Institute aims to vitalize Mysliveček's legacy.
First major initiative of the Institute is
International Conferrence Il Boemo – Josef Mysliveček on 17t and 18th March 2014 in Prague in presence of musicologists from USA, France, Italy and Czech Republic as well as sopranist Raffaella Milanesi who was cast the main part in recent production of Mysliveček's Olimpiade.
Besides talks and presentations, there will be introduced currently running and upcoming projects in collaboration with the Institute such as featured film about Mysliveček's life by Czech-French film director Petr Václav, full-length document about preparations of Olimpiade opera (to be premiered: Fall 2014), Czech translation of the most representative Mysliveček's biography by Daniel Freeman, who also will be atending the conferrence from the US. The representative finale of the conference will
concert of Vivica Genaux and Collegium 1704 on
18th March in Rudolfinum within the Baroque Opera Stars series.
