The season 2020—21 will be inaugurated by one of the most famous works in the history of music, Handel’s Messiah, and this “messianic” spirit pervades the dramaturgy of the whole concert series. The unconventional programme of the Advent concert will recreate the atmosphere of Italian Baroque Christmas and we shall celebrate the arrival of the New Year with Mozart’s Coronation Mass.
With the slogan “Join Your Artistry with Ours,” Collegium 1704 is urging everyone who is interested in music of high quality to support the issue of a new recording of Bach’s B Minor Mass. This is made possible by the portal Indiegogo.com, where projects of all kinds compete for the favor of potential donors. The recording of this Bach masterwork with the participation of the soloists Hana Blažíková (soprano), Sophie Harmsen (mezzo-soprano), Terry Wey (alto), Erik Stoklossa (tenor), Tomáš Král, and Marián Krejčík (bass) together with the ensembles Collegium Vocale 1704 and Collegium 1704 under the direction of Václav Luks was made at the studio Domovina at the beginning of this year. Supervising the recording and its mastering was the German producer and sound engineer Andreas Neubronner, the winner of two dozen Grammy Awards. In view of the previous successes of Collegium 1704 CDs, such as nominations for the 2012 Gramophone Award and the Diapason d’Or, one may expect another similar event, especially because this will be the first Czech B Minor Mass on period instruments. If you are interested in taking part in the creation of the CD, you can join in with our donors at the website Indiegogo.com. On Facebook you can view a gallery of photos taken during recording sessions.
